Weight Management
Healthy at any size
Can we talk about weight loss?
A lot of people seek out a dietitian or health coach to lose weight. There is SO much pressure for people (especially women) to conform to unrealistic beauty and body ideals, and it causes a lot of unnecessary stress and health problems. If you want to lose weight and feel fitter, I can definitely help. But I care more about your fitness, strength, well-being, and happiness than I do about what the scale says.
Other weight issues
Just as often, I have clients who are experiencing other kinds of weight challenges, like unwanted weight loss caused by food sensitivities, gut issues, or stress. For those clients, the work may entail finding substitutes for favorite foods that have turned against them or working through lifestyle issues that reduce stress and calm down the microbiome. As a baker who developed gluten intolerance, I know from firsthand experience how beloved foods can betray you!
Personalized Nutrigenomic Analysis
Nutrition science is rapidly evolving. Advances in DNA analysis are providing new tools to personalize nutrition guidance right down to your DNA. If you’ve had your DNA analyzed by 23&Me or Ancestry.com, I can offer you a free personal nutrigenomics report from Pure Genomics. This report can give you personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance that can help guide our work together.
My qualifications
There are a LOT of people selling weight loss solutions, plans, and supplements. Not all of them are well-trained or qualified. In addition to being a board-certified health coach (NBC-HWC), I am also a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). I’m also an avid trail runner, an ultra-marathoner, and an all-around fitness enthusiast. When I’m not working, cooking, hanging with my partner and my dogs, you’ll usually find me in the gym or on the trails of Kansas City.
