What Does a Health Coach Do?
As a board-certified health coach working in Kansas City, I work with people with a range of health and wellness concerns. Some of them are struggling to achieve fitness or exercise goals, some have long-term health issues, and some are overwhelmed with stress. In general, some of the areas that I cover with clients include:
Exercise and movement
Nutrition and food
Stress
Sleep
Wellness
Self-image.
How Does Health Coaching Work?
I meet with my health coaching clients on a regular basis. We do video chats or phone calls (both are HIPAA-compliant), and I love to meet in coffee shops or go for a walk anywhere in the Kansas City metro area.
I usually meet with clients in the Kansas City area three or four times a month. In these conversations, we’ll discuss your goals, challenges, habits, and motivators. I’ll work with you to develop your plan, make adjustments as we go, and keep you on track.
My Health Coaching Qualifications
A lot of people in the wellness field claim the label of “coach.” Not all of them are well-trained or qualified. Before working with a health coach, make sure they are board certified. That shows they have the proper training.
In addition to being a board-certified health coach (NBC-HWC), I am also a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). I’m also an avid trail runner, an ultra-marathoner, and an all-around fitness enthusiast. When I’m not working, cooking, hanging with my partner and my dogs, you’ll usually find me in the gym or on the trails of Kansas City.
